- The Blackjack trainer compares all choices made by the players with the basic Blackjack strategy.
- The expert mode would give time penalties if the decision took more than 10 seconds.
- Blackjack pays 3 to 2; all other wagers pay even money.
- No insurance. There is No surrender.
- No Doubling after Splitting. No re-splitting.
- Dealer stands on all 17s.

Using a free Blackjack trainer is easy and straightforward. You can press deal to start immediately or customize the options to impersonate the Blackjack version that you practice. The Blackjack chart under “Help” will then update depending on the blackjack game’s options and rules.
There are seven variables to twist the Blackjack Trainer. To adjust these settings, click on the Options button:
- Whether the game Dealer hits or stands on soft 17:
- Dealer hits on soft 17 – worse for the player
- Dealer stands on soft 17 – better for the player
- Are you allowed to double-down after having to split?
- Double permit after splitting – this is important for the player and is typically the default for the Vegas casinos.
- Double as the first option only – you may double down as your first play, not after splitting.
- Is surrender permitted?
This is the rule that allows you to fold your hand directly, before seeing the dealer’s hole card, and sacrifice your hand to save half your wager.
- Allow surrender – surrender is allowed in 6 and 8 deck shoe games in Vegas. This is an excellent rule for the players.
- No surrender – surrender is rarely permitted in single-deck and double-deck games.

- How much does Blackjack pay?
A blackjack game in a 6 deck or 8 deck shoe in Vegas pays 3:2. However, there is a recent and disturbing trend for the large casinos to have blackjack tables that pay only 6:5 on tables with a shoe. The casinos target casual players that are not aware of this difference. Be sure to find the tables that are paying 3:2!
