Craps Rules – The Basics of How to Play Craps

Online craps is played at both mobile and desktop Casinos, and also in live games too for that matter. Gamblers place stakes on the outcome of the roll of the dice. Two six-sided dice are the ones used in the game. The player throwing the dice is called “the shooter,” and if you gamble in a live casino, every bettor at the table can have the opportunity to roll as well.  The dice are passed counter clockwise after every new round.

When a new round of craps takes place, the following takes place:

The shooter picks two dice to roll.

• The shooter must then make a Pass Line bet – either on the Pass or Don’t Pass line. Other craps players at the table also make their bets.
• The shooter starts the round by rolling the dice off to the opposite wall of the table. The first roll from the shooter is known as the come-out roll.

The Come-Out Roll

As we said, the shooter makes either a Pass bet or a Don’t Pass wager before the first roll – the come-out roll. If the come-out roll is a 7 or 11, then the Pass stake wins and the Don’t Pass bets drops. This scene ends the game round. If the come-out roll is a 2, 3, or 12, also known as “craps,” the pass line then loses, and the don’t pass line wins. This ends the game round.

Should the come-out roll be a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, then that exact number becomes the player’s point. The dealers at the table will then place a puck on top of that precise number on the table.  The shooter then continues to roll the dice until they roll the point number 7.  If the point number is bowled, then the Pass line gamblers win and Don’t Pass gamesters lose. If a seven is rolled, Pass line stakes lose and Don’t Pass bets victors.
